BIG NEWS – SUP Alps Trophy SUPALOT the launch of the new LIGHTBOARDCORP® PARADOXA

We developed 6 years ago the first serial hollow construction raceboard and partnered with the most succesfull canoe manufacturer NELO. Since then we updated our SIGNATURE model and offer 4 dimensions for this timless design. The SIGNATURE has proven to be one of the fastest allround raceboards in the world. It has not only won prestigious flatwater races like Eurotour Bilbao but also recently open water races like Eurotour Alicante in difficult conditions. It is a benchmark in tech races taking lot´s of podiums and wins as well. It needs some skills and paddlers get better the longer they use.
We are not the company releasing new models year by year, instead we have been working on new ideas, technology and extraordinary shapes. I´m happy to announce the release of another lighthouse sup raceboard that will suit 95% of flatwater racers in regards to extraordinary acceleration & speed, low weight, incredible stability and stiffness – welcome PARADOXA !

The first 2 boards arrived just in front of the SUPALOT race weekend by plane. It has been like birthday and christmas alltogether unwrapping the new boards. So exciting to see in real life the new shape which I have been working on for month on CAD, we have been also teaming up with a specialized manufacturer for autoclave prepreg carbon products. This technology is the benchmark in carbon lamination and environmental friendly production process. One of the boards has been painted in blue white and the other has no topcoat or paint besides the stripe in the front. It is just raw out of the mold „UD-CARBON“ thus very lightweight.
Out of the box into the race Peter Weidert used the blue painted PARADOXA and did take a 1st and 2nd place in the 3k and 10k distance races. Not bad for a 50year old racer. I fell in love with the superlightweight raw version in the black red combo and took a 3rd and 6th place in the distance races. Hermann Husslein reached the podium in the 10k on a reworked MANTRA that has been kind of a prototype of PARADOXA design elements in rockerline and nose design.
The stance is under waterline and I was a bit scared if this works our in real race conditions. But in combination with our drainage valve system I kept the standing area dry in both races from start to finish. This design feature and the wider tail create a very comfortable stability( both 1st and 2nd stability ). The weight including accessories handles, deckpad, fin is below 10kg. I could immediatly feel the stiffness of the hull. Especially at the start I could accelerate much easier. First strokes the board takes on top speed so fast. I´m 54 years and train a lot but as I always mentioned: „sprint is no country for old men“, I have to admit this was fun. My Garmin mentioned a start topspeed of 14,1 kmh. During the race we had mixed conditions from flat with low wind to windblasts of 40kmh. The board performed in all these conditions but really shines when it´s a formular one type of water.
The front entry is a bit sharper and the tail a wider block. It has a very wide sweet spot and keeps a balanced waterline in all kind of strokes. With the wider tail it is easy to turn and feels lively.
I gave the board to many paddlers, not only LIGHTBOARDCORP teamriders, and comments have been pure positive. Just ask them yourself for example Jörg Bossack, Timo Haage( hehe back again where you belong ), Arnd Dünzinger, Michele Capizzi… I especially remember 2 paddlers from east Germany that tested all kind of leading competitors boards and finally took a run on the PARADOXA. The statement was like:“ now my idea of what has been the benchmark in raceboards is totally broken“.

Excited to see what Donato Freens, Normen Weber or Kaelan Lockhardt can do on the PARADOXA on the elite level.

Donato Freens LIGHTBOARDCORP® team rider won the first Euro Tour Stop in Ceuta and this has been a contest in challenging conditions. Ceuta is the other side of Gibraltar in Marocco and is a Spanish city. The race is kind of a "Carolina Cup" - mixed conditions upwind waves downwind .
Donato has been on the map since he has been 12 / 13 years and I could already judge he is special. Now with 17 years he testamented to be one of the worlds best ! I'm not his father but as proud !
He has been racing against me before entering into international sup circus, just 37 years age gap but a similar mindest. Donnie, I'm one of your biggest fans !
Ice on the cake - when we designed the LIGHTBOARDCORP® SIGNATURE with the convex hull nearly all the paddle scene told us: "huh this is unstable, superfast in the flat but too difficult for general racing. I always felt it has incredible second stability and this is the reason why it is a an allrounder with lots of talent in open ocean as well. More tail rocker more front combined with a pulled in tail.
The longer you paddle the SIGNATURE the faster you get.
